We understand that visiting a gynaecologist can feel overwhelming, especially if it is your first appointment or you are dealing with sensitive health concerns. Our aim is to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where you feel heard, comfortable, and well informed.



This document outlines what you can expect before, during, and after your appointment with Dr Anisha Sarkar, including consultation options, registration, and health and safety information.

Consultation Options

Face to Face Consultations

Face to face appointments are conducted at the clinic and are recommended when a physical examination, procedures, or in person assessments are required, or when you prefer an in clinic discussion.


Telehealth and Video Consultations

Telehealth and video consultations are conducted via secure channels and may be suitable for initial discussions, review of test results, follow up appointments, and ongoing management of known conditions. Not all appointments are suitable for telehealth and video and this will be discussed at the time of booking.

Before Your AppointmenT

Referral

A referral from your GP is required to be eligible for a new appointment with the practice . This can be forwarded by your GP or you can send it directly to reception@dranishasarkar.com.au. Please ensure your referral is valid on the day of your appointment, whether attending in person or via telehealth.


Once your referral is received, you will be sent a tentative appointment offer date and time which once agreed will be when your see Dr Anisha. In the lead up to your new consultation booking, you will be required to complete a patient and medical questionnaire along with your consent to the practice’s terms and conditions. These are delivered electronically for your convenience.


If these are not completed prior to the appointment date, you may lose your booking slot.


Please note for review appointments the questionnaire and consent steps are not applicable.


What to Provide

  • GP referral letter
  • Medicare card
  • Private health insurance details if applicable
  • Recent test results, scans, or specialist letters
  • List of current medications

What to Expect After Registration

Once all documents are completed, you will receive an email confirming your appointment along with details on how to get to the practice or dial into your video consultation

Your health and safety, as well as that of our staff and other patients, is very important to us. We ask all patients to follow the clinic’s health and safety guidelines when attending appointments.



  • Please do not attend the clinic if you are unwell, have a fever, or symptoms of a contagious illness
  • Inform the clinic prior to your appointment if you have been exposed to an infectious disease
  • Hand hygiene practices may be required on arrival
  • Follow any instructions provided by clinic staff to maintain a safe environment


If you are unable to attend in person due to illness or safety concerns, please contact the clinic to discuss whether a telehealth consultation may be appropriate.

During Your Appointment


Your consultation will focus on understanding your medical history, current symptoms, and concerns. All examinations and discussions are conducted with your consent, dignity, and comfort in mind.

After Your Appointment



Following your consultation, a management plan will be discussed with you. Prescriptions, referrals, and follow up arrangements will be provided as required, and reports will be sent to your referring GP.

Fees and Billing


Consultation fees vary depending on the type, complexity and length of the appointment. Medicare rebates may apply with a valid referral. Current fee structure is detailed in the terms and conditions which is provided during the appointment confirmation process.

Privacy



Your privacy and confidentiality are extremely important. All personal and medical information is handled in accordance with Australian privacy laws.
